Henstone, UK

Every so often a gin comes onto the market that starts to pick up a few awards here and there, but rarely does momentum carry on until you win best in class at the San Francisco. Of the 3800 entries only a select few win this prestigious award - this is like winning best actor at the Oscar’s (without slapping down the host!).

Naturally each year we look forward to these awards out of our own curiosity and for inspiration. Very rarely have we turned around an April win into a box by August, but thanks to the keeness and professionalism of Henstone we have managed to do that.

The gin itself was first launched in 2018 out the Stonehouse Brewery located about 90 minutes south of Liverpool, Made over a two day period using a 1000L still in batches of 1499. Each batch is slightly different depending on the season availability. Due to the high volume of natural oils used in the botanical basket, watch this gin go slightly cloudy as you add tonic and ice to the spirit. All these oils are the corner strone of why this gin performs so well on its own, and most importantly in a gin and tonic.

Whilst we were going through cocktail options for this months box we kept differing to just enjoying this gin in its most natural form; as part of a gin and tonic. Keeping it simple in this heat made the most refreshing sense to us; so we present you our ideal way to make and enjoy a Gin and Tonic.
