Royal Sedang, Vietnam

For the first time in a long time we have bought in a gin inspired by our travels. Royal Sedang a French/Vietnamese collaboration is seen through the life of Charles Marie de Maurene - a French man who convinced local tribes in Southern Vietnam to form the Kingdom of Sedang with himself as King. His self proclaimed monarchy only lasted two years before he succumbed to either a snakebite or poisoning.

Beyond his facsination in becoming a King, Charles had a keen interest in Indochina and Gin; botanicals found in this gin should transport the drinker back to both the play and historic times that the former King lived his life. The gin itself is made in France in a distillery established in 1870 - using only Asian botanicals, including Jasmin Tea, Lime & Lemongrass.

This is also the first gin we have come across that utilises Lychee as part of its botanical basket. This slow process takes over six weeks and incorporates spring water to cut the alcohol content to a smooth 42.2%.

This box comes with a Ginsanity T-Shirt, perfect for those Winter getways and a four pack of Strange Love Tonic no. 8.
