Come down and enjoy Hong Kong’s first outdoor gin festival!
Located in a prime location PMQ (35, Aberdeen Street), Ginsanity takes place on Saturday 8 June running from 2pm - 10pm. It’s a free to enter event which means you can come down after brunch, before dinner or relax and enjoy gins all day!
On site there promises to be a smorgasbord of juniper options. Thirteen Gin booths represent over 30 distilleries from around the world. This promises to be a great first time opportunity for gin fanatics to try Hong Kong gins such as Handover Gin, Bauhinia Gin and Perfume Trees. For the traditionalists, enjoy London Dry styles from Sipsmith, Old Raj, Chase or straight up Tanqueray. For those looking for the next thing, try Dancing Sands Wasabi Gin or the rosemary based Mil Gin straight from Ireland (via the Mediterranean).
If that still is not enough for you, Ginsanity will be debuting the Italian Mule, a Roby Marton gin cocktail served in a unique glass. Carrying on the Mediterranean theme, Ginsanity will be one of the first places in Hong Kong to try Portugal’s Friday Chic, the first gin to incorporate wine leaf vines as a botanical.
Start slow with a few gin samples before upgrading to gin and tonics - using Imperdible Tonic Water from Italy - starting at $65.
Whilst this might be a free to enter event, plastic usage is at a minimum; guests are advised to bring their own glasses or pick up a $20 reusable aluminium souvenir tumbler at the entrance.
Water and rinsing stations, sponsored by Life Solutions are provided on site to refresh your palate and clean your glass. Further this is a cashless and ginfanatics can choose to use cash, or top up their RFID wallet using credit card or HSBC PayMe at the top up booth.
Beyond the botanicals there are three food vendors (Three Blind Mice, Sausage Connection & Chicken Bar). Beer will be provided by local brewery Black Kite - who will be brewing a special juniper beer for Ginsanity - as well as a small wine bar via Wine Moments.
After finding your favourite gin, make sure you pass the bottle store on your way out. Bottles will be available for sale -- at special Ginsanity pricing, and will be made available for delivery, direct to your home the week after the event. So no need to lug bottles of gin around Hong Kong on your way to dinner (or bed!).
Be gin-sane in the membrane.
