Lawrenny Gin, Tasmania
Tasmania is fast becoming known for high quality spirits, in particular gin and whiskey. Lawrenny Estate in particular are at the forefront of this Tasmanian revival. Location on 80,000 hectares over central highlands of Tasmania Lawrenny Estate has been a home of cattle, sheep and more recently wheat & hops!
Lawrenny is one of the few ‘paddock to bottle’ distilleries in the world. Grains are grown and then harvested from the Lawrenny fields then mashed, fermented and distilled using the pure waters that flow through the estate.
Lawrenny Highlands Gin is the showcase of the estate, encapsulating barley and water from over 3,000 lakes on the island. Botanicals added include grapefruit, chamomile and uniquely Blue Cypress Needle.
In addition to this Tasmanian Expression we have put in StrangeLove Tonics from the other side, aka the Big Island. Locally based Yass Cookies have also custom made lollies using the Highlands Gin!
