Sado, Japan

Sado Gin pronounced 'Say-Dough' is distilled in 200 bottle batches using the Hojicha roasted green tea from Japan, grown in the Okumikawa region on a single small estate that also grows tea for the Emperor of Japan. 'Sadō' is a Japanese word meaning 'The Way of Tea' and refers to the ancient Japanese tradition of tea ceremonies. Unlike our previous gins that have used a key tea ingredient, Sado focuses on a much more floral, sweeter taste than the roasty flavours you may expect from a tea gin.

After a trip to Japan in late 2019 the team from Sado Made by expert gin distillers in London using Japanese botanicals alongside a range of more traditional gin flavours. The combination of the elderflower and the Hoijcha roasted tea gives this edition a strong floral aroma with a sweet aftertaste at the back of the throat.

This month we have designed our box with Hong Kong summer in mind. We are going to be here for it, so why not make the most of it?

We have also paired this gin with exclusive Japanese tonic, designed by Suntory, yet not to be found in Hong Kong yet...Beyond tonic, we have designed two summer cocktails and thrown in our Ginsanty tote bag! As always check us out at GinsanityHK or visit us in store to chat all things gin!
