Brookies Gin, Australia

In what we think is a Global first this month we are showcasing two 350ml bottles from the same distillery. A classic dry gin and an Australian twist on sloe gin.

In 1998 the Brook family purchased the land Cape Byron Distillery is located, planting over 35,000 subtropical rainforest plants in an attempt to reclaim the rain forest lost to farming. In 2016 part of the land was purchased and the Cape Byron Distillery was established - Jim McEwan of Botanist and Bowmore whiskey fame joined the team as the head distiller and the rest is history. Cape Byron is the world's most sustainable and green distillery, using 17 rainforest botanicals forested from the Distillery's doorstep.

Brookie's Dry Gin is the spearhead of the distillery showcasing all the botanicals found in an Australian rainforest including, macadamia, finger limes and wild ginger. Its sister gin; Brookie's Slow is a classic Down Under twist on traditional Sloe Gin, using native Davidson Plums instead of the Sloe Berry, The plums are steeped in the original Brookie's Dry Gin to create flavours of Raspberry, Watermelon and of course Plum. If this is you first time experiencing a sloe gin, expect a sweeter, but vibrant gin, perfect for cocktails and punches.

This box is all about the rainforest, so enjoy your Cape Byron spritz' in your Cape Byron enamel mugs! Bloody Struth.
