Sherringhams Seaside Gin, Victoria, Canada
Operated by wife and husband team; Alayne & Jason Maclsaac the Sherringham Distillery is located at the South end of beautiful Vancouver Island. The distillery itself is named after an old finish town that has since disappeared into history, but all that lost to history is used to create an eccentric range of spirits distilled by Sherringham today. Beyond this history, Sherringham uses only Canadian ingredients in their spirits; the majority of which can be found on the Island.
Seaside Gin is a true Vancouver Island expression, the unique winged kelp also known as the Mermaid of the Pacific is the cornerstone botanical of this gin. This kelp is foraged up and down the Pacific Coast of the Island and gives the gin a true Unami profile.
We topped up the box with Rootside Tonic Cordial - also from Vancouver Island. This complements many of the botanicals found in the Seaside Gin and enables the imbiber to increase or decrease the amount of tonic flavoured as enjoyed. Our tip would be to use one part tonic, two parts gin, three parts soda for the ideal combo, but play around and see what works best for you.
